Good morning!  Jess here with a festive Christmas card featuring the adorable penguins from Snow Play!

I love the entire Snow Play set but those adorable penguins were just calling my name!  To start I stamped them with versafine, heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder, and colored them with copics before die-cutting them with the coordinating dies!  I added a few accents with a white gel pen and spectrum noir clear sparkle.  I also added a little nuvo crystal glaze to their scarves and hats and sprinkled them with chunky and prisma glitter.

Next I masked off a piece of strathmore bristol cardstock with a post-it note and blended blueprint sketch and chipped sapphire distress ink across the bottom quarter of the panel.  Then I switched the mask and blended broken china, blueprint sketch, chipped sapphire, and black soot distress ink across the top of the panel for my sky.  I left the mask across the “water” of my card and splattered the sky with water and white gouache.  Once the panel was dry I stamped it with the new Falling Snow background stamp and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder.  Then I tore a piece of white cardstock to create an iceberg for my penguins to stand on.  I adhered it to the card across the waterline and added my penguins with foam mounting tape.  I added a little crystal glaze and glitter to the top of the iceberg and let it dry.  Finally I die-cut the sentiment from Christmas Words #1 three times, adhered them together, and adhered them to my card panel!

It’s a busy design but I feel like the pops of red really stand out and help to brighten the card design!  I hope it inspires you to get crafting on your holiday cards!  Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
