Hi, crafty friends! This is Rubeena from A Rare Ruby back with another project for you! I hope you’ve been loving what my teammates have been sharing with the new release. There is always more inspiration on the Hello Bluebird Instagram page so I’d recommend following their page.
The new release focuses on Halloween and fall themes, and I love to stretch my stamps. I wanted to create a watercolor scene with critters from Autumn Gatherings. I started with a 5×7 cold-pressed watercolor sheet and stamped the three main critters in a light gray ink that would allow me to do some no-line watercoloring. I stamped the clouds from Fall Friends.
Then I taped down the sheet on all four sides with masking tape to prevent warping. I watercolored the images with a small round watercolor brush and my Daniel Smith Extra Fine Watercolors. I used a larger brush for the grass and sky. I finished off details with various pens once the piece had dried completely. I know that my fox’s glasses are not on his ears, but I realized this later and it just amused me. Also, the squirrel looks a bit angry, right? I stamped the sentiment from Autumn Gatherings in black ink.
I hope you were inspired try some no-line coloring and creating your own scenes! Thanks for stopping by and leaving some love.
This is sooo cute! Love the no-line watercoloring!
