Hi everyone!  I hope you’ve been enjoying our big August release, I know I’ve had so much fun creating with it all.  My card today features Autumn Gatherings in combination with the Birch Trees Dies.

To make this card I started out with an A2 panel of Bristol Smooth watercolour cardstock.  I ink blended it using Peacock Feathers Distress Ink and blended it out so that most of the colour was at the top and sides.  I then took Antique Linen Distress Ink and blended the bottom of the panel and dotted in some texture.   I applied this panel to the 110lb white cardstock base.

Next, I die cut all the Birch Trees and similarly ink blended their edges using Antique Linen and Pumice Stone Distress Inks.  I backed each tree with dimensional foam tape and layered them into the scene.  I stamped the sentiment lightly to match the feel of the card and applied that.  I grabbed some additional Bristol Smooth cardstock, stamped out my images using more of the Antique Linen Distress Ink and then painted them using my Kuretake Zigs.  I wasn’t going for a no line watercolour affect particularly, I just knew that for this card I didn’t want a hard black line, I wanted to keep everything very soft looking.  The Autumn Gatherings stamp set includes several accessories to dress your critters up with or have them hold on to.  I chose a bow (bow tie) a scarf and a flat cap for mine.

I used more dimensional foam tape to attach my critters in front of the trees and finished off the card with a generous amount of 3mm sparkling clear sequins for a little icy twinkle.

Thanks for stopping by the Hello Bluebird blog today, see you next time!
