Hi everyone, Eloise here and today I’ll be using the Hippos on Holiday stamp set to create a simple beach scene card. I used my Copics for my pops of colour along with Distress Inks for the background and white embossing powder to create a cool ‘crashing waves’ effect.

To begin my card today, I started off with stamping out my images from Hippos on Holiday onto some Neenah Solar White Cardstock. I then used various colours of Copic Markers and coloured in all my images. I took the coordinating dies to cut them out. For my background I took a few colours of Distress Inks (Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean for the sky, Mustard Seed and Squeezed Lemonade for the sand) and ink blended them onto a piece of watercolour cardstock. I used a strip of post it masking tape cut at a hill shape to mask off both areas. Then I sprinkled the background with water, picked it up with a paper towel and dried the background with my heat tool. For the ‘crashing waves’ look, I scribbled some Versamark Marker in little circles along the edge and coated it with white embossing powder. It gives a subtle yet effective look for crashing waves.

(Copic Markers Used: YG03, YG13, YG17 / B21, B24, B26 / V12, V15, V17 / Y35, YR15, YR09 / Y11, Y04, Y15 / RV42, RV25, RV29 / R14, R24, R29 / E53, E55, E57 / W0, W2, W5, W7 / C00, C1 / 0)

Now that my background was all completed, I took my images and added foam tape onto the backs. Then I adhered them down onto my background. To finish up, I white heat embossed the ‘Hey, Sunshine’ sentiment from Hippos on Holiday as well onto a thin strip of black cardstock. I mounted that with foam tape too on the right hand side of my card. Lastly, I adhered a strip of blue striped patterned paper onto a card base and adhered my panel on top as well.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed and inspired. See you all next time!
