Hi everyone, Eloise here and today I’ll be using the Puddle Play stamp set to make an encouragement card. This set is so super cute and I loved playing with some watercolours for all my colouring today, since lately I’ve been very moved towards Copics.
To begin my card today, I started off with stamping my images onto some watercolour cardstock with black ink and clear heat embossed over them, so when I watercolour; the colour is a little more contained and easier to handle. I used my Kuretake Gansai Watercolour Palette for today, since I haven’t used it in forever. I also used a Black Velvet No.2 Brush, since it was small and easy to colour with. I started off with adding full strength colour to the side of my images where I wanted it to be darkest, and then pulled the colour out with a clean brush to create the gradient effect. I repeated this step for all my images, dried them off and cut them out using the coordinating dies. I set them off to the side and worked on the background. I used the same palette for this and did a grey wash at the top for the sky, and blue for the bottom to appear as water. I dried that with a heat tool also, just to speed up the process.
Next, I took the rain stamp from Rainy Day and stamped that in black ink onto the background. I did the same for the “puddle” image on the bottom of the water-coloured panel as well. Then for the sentiment “Wishing You Brighter Days” I stamped it in the same black ink as well, but on the top of the panel. I also clear heat embossed over all three of those stamps since I didn’t want the ink to smudge. then I added foam tape to the backs of all my images and adhered them into place. To finish off my card I used a strip of patterned paper from Lawn Fawn on the right hand side and adhered it all to a card base.
Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed and got inspired. Catch you all next time!
