Hi, crafty friends! This is Rubeena from A Rare Ruby sharing my very first blog post on the Hello Bluebird Blog. I just want to start by saying that I am really happy about being on the Design Team. I am a huge fan of Hello Bluebird designs and can’t wait to come up with more projects for you all! I created this card a while back using products from the March release, which was one of my favorites!
Without separating the dies from Tropical Foliage, I die-cut them from several watercolor sheets. I did not have any specific number in mind. I watercolored the cuts using my signature style of loose watercoloring, finished off with white and black paint splatters. I set them aside to dry.
I stamped some images from Jungle Littles and McGregor’s Garden with a Copic-friendly black ink on smooth white cardstock. I colored them with Copic markers and added details with a white gel pen. I fussy cut them (my coordinating dies came a little later :)). I stamped the sentiment from Jungle Littles with clear embossing ink onto black cardstock and heat-embossed with white embossing powder. I trimmed it down and then worked on putting my card together.
I love to get all the pieces done first before I arrange them onto my card base. Dimensional cards are so fun to create. I added small foam tape pieces to the back of each piece. I mounted all the foliage first and then snuck in the critters before finishing off with the sentiment. I hope you were inspired to create your own dimensional cards! They are not as easy to mail, but I did send this off to a dear friend in a box. Thank you for visiting!
