Hello everybody, this is Nicky with you today with my very first blog post for Hello Bluebird and I couldn’t be happier about it!

For my first blog project I chose to work with Just Sayin’ from the May release.  I utterly adore these sweet and sincere little characters and the flexibility one has to spell out a plethora of messages using the generous quantity of  mix and match words.

My card started with an A2 110lb white cardstock base which I set to one side.  I stamped an A2 panel in my Misti using the Cozy Plaid Background Stamp.  I then used one of the three grass edged dies from the new Grassy Knoll Die set to cut a small panel of smooth watercolour cardstock which I ink blended with Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink and then randomly stamped with a tuft of grass stamp included in Deer Friend .  I applied the grassy strip to the plaid background with dimensional foam tape and then applied the whole plaid panel to the card base with a layer of craft foam sandwiched in between to lift it up.

On yet more smooth watercolour cardstock I stamped out my imagines in black archival ink.  I watercolour painted them using Kuretake Zigs and then highlighted one or two areas using a Uniball Signo White gel pen.  I added a word to each blank space to spell out the message I wanted to convey then I adhered everything to the card panel using 1 or 2 layers of dimensional foam tape to build depth.  The final touch was the application of several crystal clear sequins in a couple of different sizes for a little twinkle!

I hope you enjoyed my card and tutorial today and I hope you are inspired to go and create your own now.  Thank you for taking a few minutes out of your day to read here.  See you next time!
