Hello there! It’s Audrey Tokach here, and I am thrilled to be sharing my first post on the Hello Bluebird blog with you today! My card features the adorable new Farmyard Little Bits stamp set, along with a previously released stamp set, Cheery Greetings.
To create my card, I started off with a piece of white cardstock cut 4″ x 5.25″. I ran it through my diecut machine with a die from my stash to add a stitched edge to the panel. Then, I masked off the top portion of the panel and ink blended a fun pink and orange ombre on the bottom half of the panel using Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick and Wild Honey Distress Oxide inks. I stamped, colored and fussy cut a trio of tiny cows from the Farmyard Little Bits stamp set. Before deciding where to place them, I stamped my custom sentiment in the center of the panel, just above the ombre line. One of the things that I love most about stamping is mixing and matching stamp sets for more versatility. By combining the large script word from Cheery Greetings with the fun typewriter font and sentiment from Farmyard Little Bits, it creates a fun focal point. I didn’t want to have to fussy cut around the cow’s tails, so instead, I stamped each cow directly where I wanted it on my card, then popped up the cut out portion of each cow on top of the stamped image using foam tape. Not only does this keep me from having to do tedious cutting, but it also makes the cow’s tails appear like they are really behind the cows!
After I popped up those cute, tiny cows, I stamped a scattering of hearts around each cow using red ink. I felt like it need something more, so after adding white gel pen accents to the images, I pulled out some black and white patterned papers from my stash and cut banner ends on a few strips. I offset them a bit, then stapled them to the left side of the panel, underneath the sentiment. I added a tiny bit of foam tape to the right end of the banners to add some dimension. Finally, I popped the panel up on a black A2 card base using foam tape.
That’s all for me today! Thanks so much for stopping by! 🙂
So cute, Audrey!! The pink and orange ink blending is so pretty! 🙂
